Another Shake Up in the Polls as Teams Fall and Rise

This week started with quite an interesting twist, we have now have a new #1 team in the country as Syracuse has fallen and finally lost a game.  The new best team in the country is none other then the Kentucky Wildcats, a team that only has one loss and that was 13 games ago when they lost at Indiana due to a buzzer beater 3 point shot.  But now they are the number 1 again because Syracuse lost to Notre Dame and it was a pretty bad loss for them.  In that game Syracuse did not play like the best team in the country and that is why they lost.

Also there have been some interesting developments in the ACC this past week as Florida State beat both UNC and Duke, granted they barely beat Duke and crushed UNC.  Though I do have to say that UNC did not play like one of the best teams in the country against Florida State and did deserve to lose that game for their inability to develop a mental toughness that was there in every other championship team.  But now we have four teams in the ACC that have the ability to win the ACC Championship, UNC, Duke, Virginia and Florida State.  I'm pretty much sure that all four of these teams will be around in March and honestly which one will go the farthest is up to how they play down the stretch, of course I want it to be UNC and I want them to win it all but then again they haven't been playing the best ball this season, hopefully they start playing better and regain the toughness that they used to have.

In other conference news tonight Michigan finally got their true road win against Purdue and have now won 2 of their last three games.  Though all of their most recent games have gone down to the wire and could have gone either way depending on how a shot went down.  I must say that in their game against Arkansas they did battle very hard to come back from being down by 20 to only lose by 2.  Michigan is showing the College Basketball world that give them a year and they will be true contenders just like Indiana has shown.  Now Indiana what a team, what a year for them.  They have put themselves back on the map and have shown that this team deserves to be a part of Hoosier history.  This is a team that has beat the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the country in the same season.  Hopefully they will go far in March but be sure to look at Cody Zeller improve his game in his years at Indiana and potentially even become a much better player then his brother Tyler is.  Granted Tyler did play behind another great Tyler during his freshman year but Cody has an amazing ability to drive the ball in and play with tenacity and get what shot he needs.

What a week for College Basketball, I can only hope to see what this week brings. I hope you all enjoyed this post and keep following my love affair with sports.
