MLB Postseason: ALDS and NLDS

Wow can we just say wow for how the MLB playoffs have gone so far. Who really would have thought that both the Phillies and the Yankees would be out of the playoffs by the first round, definitely not me I can tell you that much but here we are and in the NLDS it's the Brewers vs the Cardinals and in the ALDS it's the Rangers vs the Tigers. I really have no idea who will be playing in the World Series this year it really is anyone's game and year, there is no story this year like there was last year with the Giants. Ok so I'm partial to the SF Giants and think that we have the most amazing players ever and having last years rookie of the year on our team was phenomenal, though sadly he was out most of this year with an injury because of the stupid Florida Marlins, how much I hate them this year. Alright sorry for that slight tirade about the Giants and not about the actual teams that are in it this year.

I'm still in shock that the Phillies lost to the Cardinals this year, because the Phillies were so amazing this season though this does prove that anyone can come and win in the post season even playing against the best team in the regular season. We see this every year in the post season in basketball for both the NBA and the NCAA. Though I will say that maybe it wasn't so strange that the Phillies were eliminated so early in the post season because once they clinched the playoff berth they stopped trying and if you stop trying with like a month left to play you forget the drive needed to win. Honestly I think the Yankees had the same issue, every team left in the playoffs but the Rays and the Diamondbacks all clinched their places in the postseason with either a week or less then a week left to play and thus they all had to fight until the very end to make certain that they would be playing for the pennant come October.

Today we had game one of the ALDS and the funny thing was that there were two rain delays in the game and it was in Texas strange that Texas would have so much rain that a game would be delayed twice but that was the case. While watching the Michigan game and the Georgia game tonight go Blue and go Dawgs, yes both teams won today, I was able to catch parts of the baseball game and going into the second rain delay The Tigers had started to come back and were down 3-2 with runners on second and third with two outs and it was the top of the fifth inning. The game ended with the Rangers taking this rain filled game one 3-2. Today it will be game one between the Cardinals and the Brewers at 4:05 eastern on TBS and then game two for the Rangers and Tigers at 7:45 eastern on Fox.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and keep following my love affair with sports.
