Hey everyone I'm Zoya and this is my new blog dedicated to all of you sports fans. Here I will discuss all of my thoughts about impending trades, how the games are going and breaking down teams and seeing if they are truly as strong as people say they are. I'm not going to lie when it comes to College basketball season I'm going to be very biased towards a few teams. I'm a sports fan a huge one.
Now lets get started. One of the biggest news in sports right now is how Shaq just signed a two year contract with the Celtics at the veterans minimum. He is taking quite a pay cut to be on the team. The Celtics are in major need of good big men as Kendrick Perkins is out til roughly February with torn ligaments in his right knee. I'm wondering if Shaq will be a good fit for the Celtics, he will if he realizes that he will not have a lot of playing time and he will be brought in mostly as a specialist down on the paint and on the inside. Shaq needs to prove to everyone that he isn't a washed up old superstar who is just trying to milk a few more years in the NBA.
Lets move onto baseball, I'm going out there and I'm going to say it I'm a Giants fan and I support Barry Bonds. It had to be said. The Giants are currently riding a hot streak that started after the All Star Break, also done with the help of the Giants newest rookie Catcher Buster Posey. He had an insanely strong July being both the Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month in the MLB. He had a .417 batting average, 7 hr, 24 RBI and a 21 game hitting streak that was one shy of breaking the record for a Giants rookie. With the help of Buster the Giants are looking at actually making their first play off appearance since 2003 when they made it all the way to the World Series and lost it in the 7th game to the Angels after giving up game 6.
