Weekend Round Up: NBA, NCAA and NFL

The beginning of the 2015-2016 season is shaping up to be a repeat of last season for the Warriors.  8 games in and they are still undefeated and are 3 games away from tying the 98 Hawks and 4 games away from setting a new record in the NBA.  This team is playing amazing and look like they are just getting better and better.  I honestly thought that with Steven Kerr out that maybe the Warriors won't be playing at quite the same level but they have proved that all Kerr did was to set the foundation for this team to be the best that they can be.  I have truly enjoyed watching this team and love that even when the games are close as it was with the Clippers they find ways to win even if it isn't due to Stephen Curry. The Warriors are the team to beat right now figuratively and literally.

On Saturday UNC gained complete control over the ACC Coastal with a demolishment of Duke, the very first play of the game was an 89 yard touchdown reception and the game just went downhill for Duke from there.  As an UNC fan this game was amazing to watch, it looks like UNC football is starting to come back and that UNC will be a football and basketball powerhouse at least within in the ACC.  This game showed that UNC has an amazing defense and that they can play at a high level.  I'm excited to watch them for the rest of the season and hope that they can make it to the ACC title game against Clemson, who has secured the ACC Atlantic division.

On Sunday the 49ers gave this poor fan a miracle and actually won a game.  We now have 3 wins and that actually is saying something at least for this year.  I think that starting Blaine Gabbert was a stroke of genius and he revitalized the team and helped get the team off the ground.  He threw for 2 first half touchdowns which Kaepernick hasn't been able to do this season.  Thankfully the Niners have a bye week upcoming and we can work on beating Seattle in two weeks.  I hope that we can play well and that this just the start to at least gain back something from this lost season.

I hope you enjoyed this post and will keep following my love affair with sports.
