Luke Walton and the credit Interim Assistant Coaches get

Today Adam Silver and the NBA announced that Steve Kerr will be officially getting the credit for the wins while he is out but that Luke Walton will be eligible for any award that he may be up for.  Now I think that right now this is a good compromise especially as this is such a different situation, there have been many times that Head Coaches have had to take a leave of absence but previously there was no reason for discussing who gets the credit for the record.  The only reason that there is a discussion now is because the Warriors are 19-0 and there really doesn't seem to be a time to close that they will lose.  Would we be still having this discussion if the Warriors were 0-19 or 10-9, I truly doubt it.

I am glad that Luke Walton will be getting the credit in terms of being eligible as coach of the month or coach of the year awards.  We all know that Luke Walton will be a highly sought after prospect at the end of the season as a head coach considering what he has done so far while Steve Kerr has been out.  I look forward to watching the Warriors and seeing what they will be like for the rest of the season.
