Bracket Breakdown: Focusing on Michigan and Kentucky

Hopefully you all enjoyed my slight breakdown of the bracket yesterday.  Today I have decided to focus on two teams who have good chances of making it very far and one team who has a great chance of making it to the Championship game and possibly even winning it all.  Yes I am afraid to say that team is Kentucky not Michigan but Michigan does have a great chance of making it to the Sweet 16.

read this article for a good look at the last 5 years of Michigan basketball

This year Michigan got a share of the Regular Season crown sharing it with Michigan St. and Ohio St.  and that is no mean feat, these two teams that Michigan shared the crown with are both amazing teams and that is very hard for me to say but it is true.  Now back to Michigan and their chances in the big dance; in my humble opinion as a sports fan, they will make it to the Sweet 16.  They have the talent and the skill set to make it very far just not all the way this year.  They do have some weaknesses and that is that no one on the team averages over 6 rebounds a game while this may seem like they are more balanced rebounding team, unfortunately that is not the case.  This is a team that needs to work on their rebounding and become better if they can magically become a better rebounding team they have a chance to get passed the Sweet 16.  I hope they go far just not as far as UNC or Kansas.

Now to Kentucky, this is a team that a lot of people think will win it all and it may be Calipari's best team at Kentucky.  This team is full of a lot of strong players especially in Anthony Davis who is probably one of the best defensive players in the country.  They have a great shot of winning the entire tournament behind Teague, Miller, Jones, Lamb and of course Davis.  This is a loaded team that has only lost two games this entire season one to Indiana and one to Vanderbilt.  These losses have shown that this team is beatable and you know what I do agree with that statement.  Every team is beatable it just comes down to who has the will to beat Kentucky, granted not to many teams have the talent to beat Kentucky but there are at least 4 teams that do North Carolina, Kansas, Syracuse and Ohio State.  Kentucky is a good team and this year may be their year though I want it to be North Carolina's year.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and keep following my love affair with sports.
